While messages and portrayals of the “tough guy” and the dominant male role model permeate popular culture, very few if any popularized images exist to point to as a model of equality for men to emulate.
While thousands of men who practice equality in relationships exist, they rarely get celebrated as positive images and modern day heroes. And while hero status or celebrated attention is not the reason or motivation behind the emulation of these characteristics, modeling this behavior can create a world where children have a better understanding and approach to solving conflict in human relationships and to creating a world free of violence.
For that purpose some of the attributes of an egalitarian relationship are demonstrated in the following "Equality Wheel" as an alternative to a dynamic often examined in the “Power and Control Wheel”.
